Rome In Limo

We booked RomeinLimo for our day in Rome. Nick was our driver and was waiting for us as we as we left the ship. He was able to get around traffic jams, bottlenecks to get us to the sites we wanted to visit. He explained Roman history in detail and was very knowledge. He took his time, made sure we took our time to explore the sites, answered our questions and was very outgoing and friendly.

At lunch he wanted to know which type of lunch we needed, sit down or quick. We elected quick and he took us to a location and pointed out 4+ restaurants, their specialties and advised of the moderate prices.

As we left the van, it was sprinkling and he gave each couple an umbrella to use. He said he would be back in 1 hour, and there he was.

He took us to meet our Vatican guide, Katherine. She was very good and knowledgeable on the Vatican. She was very good at guiding us around large tour bus groups, getting us to locations where we could hear her explanations. She pointed out the most prominent parts of the Vatican which helped to avoid the crowds.

Nick had indicated what time he wanted us back to the van, so as to make it back to the ship, and she did.

We saw parts of Rome we would not have seen had we tried to do it on our own.

We recommend RomeinLimo 100%, give them a 5+star rating and would use them again. We have already recommended to future cruisers and they have booked with them.

If you go with RomeinLimo, be sure to request Nick and Katherine. You won't go wrong.

Thank you for your patience prior to our trip to Rome and for helping us with the planning.

Thank you for arranging Franco to be our driver in the tour of Rome and to Sorrento. Franco was more than just a driver. He provided us not just with information of the places of interest and where we visited but also of the places we went by. He brought us to interesting places not found in travel guides. He brought us to restaurants with wonderful Italian fare. Franco is a patient and informative guide, and engaging too. We felt safe and comfortable in his care. Thank you Franco for making our tour and journeys in Rome sweet and memorable and thank you for sharing with us a part of yourself.

Thanks Jany for engaging Lucia for our Pompeii tour and Sarah for the Vatican city tour. Lucia was very knowledgeable and provided us with much information about Pompeii. Sarah was just as knowledgeable and gave us a very detailed tour of the Vatican museum and Sistine chapel. She was able to go into greater details with the exhibits in these two places and covered much ground there since we had done the Basillica on our own in the morning. Both Sarah and Lucia are great guides.

We did not get the name of the driver who picked us up at the airport. He was waiting patiently for us when we arrived and sent us safely to our hotel.

Just a note to let you know what a wonderful tour we enjoyed with Salvatore from Civitivecchia to Orvieto and Ceri on 31 Oct. From pick up on the pier (Nieuw Amsterdam) to return, a terrific day. Salvatore made the day special and personalized. Our brief stops at the winery and local olive oil processor were great additions. Lunch at Trattoria Sora Lella was delicious. Please relay our thanks to him.

Words cannot express what a wonderful time we had on our Rome tour with Antonio.

He was waiting for our group of 8 at the Civitavecchia port on September 28 as promised.
I had not booked the tour, we joined in with some other lovely couples who we met on-line Cruise Critics.

Antonio was the perfect guide, with lots of stories and knowledge of the Roman history. He kept us laughing and entertained through out the tour.
He is such a wonderful person.

We saw all the major monuments - Trevi Fountaini, Spanish steps, Coliseum, Vatican City. We also enjoyed a lovely lunch together. Great pizza, awesome pasta and wine. He delivered us safely back to our ship.

When ever I return to Rome, Florence or Almafi I do hope he can show us around again.

A highlight of our cruise was our RIL tour of Pompeii, Sorrento and Positano with Raphael, our driver. HE was outstanding! He was knowledgable, charming and interesting..His driving skills were top notch and our entire group enjoyed the music he selected for our drive down the Amalfi Coast.
