Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri:
This day trip is designed to enjoy an overview of the town of Sorrento and explore the archaeological site of Pompeii and a boat ride to the infamous island of Capri.
First stop is Pomeii, an ancient town that was covered by ashes of the eruption of mont Vesuvius in the year 79 A.C. and has been captivating archaeologists from all over the world, since the excavations began. You'll see Mt. Vesuvius from a distance, walk through the extensive ruins of Pompeii, and gain knowledge and understanding of everyday life in the ancient times. You may rent audio guides or book a specialist licensed guide with us, if you require detailed commentary (Pompeii is partly wheelchair accessible).
Next stop is Sorrento, the town overlooks the bay of Naples, as the key place of the Sorrentine Peninsula and many viewpoints in the city allow sight of Naples itself, Vesuvius and the island of Capri. Which you can reach with a ferry boat or hydrofoils.
We can also arrange a local driver/guide to take you around in the island for 3 Hrs. From Capri you will take the ferry back to the port of Naples, where your ship will be waiting for you.
When you arrive at Capri in the Marina Grande you will discover an enchanting, romantic island that has been a luxury getaway since the days of the Roman Empire. In fact, Emperor Tiberius retired to the island and lived in one of his many villas that he’d had built on the island. The ruins of his villa still exist and are definitely worth visiting.
There are two towns on the island, Capri and Anacapri, and they are both charming with fascinating shops and art galleries, and wonderfully luxurious hotels and restaurants. The streets are always narrow and interesting and often steep as Capri the island is entirely mountainous.
