The tour has been designed for the guests who have already seen the famous attractions and beauties of Florence and Pisa and are looking for an exceptional and original excursion into the Tuscan countryside and learn about the wine and olive oil making process. We will provide a tour that is original, informative and entertaining.

The stops are: MONTALCINO, MONTEPULCIANO AND SIENA.

Montepulciano was a cruicial town in the history of this region from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance, when it was once a major trade center. Today it is famous throughout the world for its red wine (Vino Nobile). From Montepulciano, the tour proceeds towards the splendid town of Montalcino, that owes its name to the Holm-oaks (ilex in Latin), surrounding this hilly area. The stronghold of Montalcino has always been of capital importance due to the town's strategic position on top of a hill. It is home of the well known Tuscan wine, Brunello. The country exclusively produces this wine from Sangiovese Grosso grapes (100%). The average production, depending on the season, reaches almost 8.000.000 bottles yearly. A ruby color, a typical scent, a dry, lightly tannic taste stand as its major, successful features.

Next stop on the tour is the town of Siena with its medieval architecture, the towers and characteristic alleyways give Siena its proud and elegant aspect. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, the main town square, is one of the most unique italian squares, and holds the historical Palio. This famous horse race involves all of the cities districts, called "Contrade", and is one of the most important and best preserved Italian medieval traditions.
