This day excursion is designed for those who wish to enjoy a different Rome, away from the more touristic places, but still filled with wonders.
Your English speaking driver will meet you right in front of your ship in Civitavecchia, ready to drive you to Rome, where you will start your day in one of the oldest sites in the city – the Appian Way. You will stroll along the peaceful road on some of the original paving stones, dating back to Roman times.
Next is a visit the Catacombs, a maze of underground Christian cemeteries dating to the 1st century, this is a unique experience to walk the eerie tunnels filled with empty tomb niches and beautiful frescoes.

After which, your driver will take you back to the city center. Passing the magnificent Baths of Caracalla, 3rd century baths that could hold more than 1500 people at a time going on the Aventine hill, one of the seven hills of Rome to see one of the secrets of Rome (not the best kept secret :), the keyhole.
