Secret Rome (Walking Tour)

This specialized shore excursion is designed for cruise passengers who wish to experience the heart of Rome intimately on foot, utilizing our private luxury vehicles exclusively for the round-trip transfers between the Port of Civitavecchia and the city center. Your professional driver will pick you up directly at your ship for a comfortable ride to the edge of Rome’s historic center. Upon arrival, your vehicle service concludes for the sightseeing portion of the day, and you will be met by your private licensed tour guide to begin a fully pedestrian exploration of the Eternal City.
Your walking journey starts at the iconic Spanish Steps, which serves as the perfect launchpad for navigating Rome’s pedestrian-friendly core. Because the historic center is highly compact, you will easily stroll between the city’s most legendary outdoor landmarks, passing beautiful squares, grand fountains, and ancient monuments. Your expert guide will lead you through the cobblestone alleys toward the majestic ruins of the ancient city before transitioning to Vatican City in the afternoon for a guided visit to St. Peter’s Square.
