With that in mind, we asked our guides to create an itinerary full of laughs and learning.
This is day is designed for the first- timers, is an overview of the best sights that Rome can offer in one day only.
Your driver-guide will pick you up at the port and drive you to the heart of Rome, Venice Square, where Victor Emanuel monument, called "the Wedding Cake", is located. Next sites to visit are the remainders of the ancient great history of the city: the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Circus Maximus and the Capitol Hill. Back to the center of Rome, you will visit the most famous today of all ancient city temples, the Pantheon, walk through Piazza Navona, see the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.
After lunch it is time for the underground tour, where lies a serene ancient metropolis, seemingly frozen in time. You start with a visit to the stunning Medieval church of St. Clemente, under which the remains of two previous archaeological structures are situated. Next is a visit to one of the Catacombs, an important archeological area just outside the city, along the ancient Appian Way, one of several underground cemeteries or necropoli.
Your driver/guide will pick you up from the port in the morning and will take you back to the dock in the afternoon.
