This day is created for those who wishes to see Rome in a slower pace while enjoy the local food and wine.
You will be greeted at the Port of Rome and will make your way to the heart of Rome to visit one the most important ancient site, the Pantheon, to admire once ancient Roman temple dedicated to all the pagan Gods. After your visit your driver will take you to one of the side cafes for you to taste the true Cappuccino and Italian coffee before strolling in Piazza Navona, the square of the artists and learning about Baroque art and the master Bernini.
Just a few minutes away you will now visit Campo de’ Fiori, hosting the charming and vibrant flower, fruit and vegetable market in an incomparable setting of medieval houses. Here you can pick the best funghi porcini and the best artichokes in town, shop for the best Mediterranean spices and olive oil before heading to a local Enoteca, winery, where your personal sommelier will take you on a wine journey of Italy. You will learn about different wine from different parts of Italy, learn to taste them and distinguish the difference, learning about the aging process, all accompanied by Italian cheeses, delicacies and bruschette.
After your wine tasting it is time for a true Roman lunch at a local restaurant where you can have two tips of pasta dishes, i Primi as the Italians say, Amatriciana and Carbonara, unlike anything you have tasted, accompanied with a glass of the local wine from Lazio. The owner will in person explain the tradition and history behind the two historical pasta dishes.
After lunch you have time still to visit the Spanish steps and the Trevi fountain where you can insure your return back to the city by throwing your coin inside of the fountain and of course shop if you wish to, then last but not least a good original Gelato is in order before heading back to the port.
