This day trip is designed for those who wish to enjoy highlights of the region of CAMPANIA, including POSITANO and the archaeological site of POMPEII or HERCULANEUM.
After you are greeted by your English speaking driver, you will make your way to the region of Campania, where you will spend the duration of your day sightseeing. You will begin by exploring the pristinely preserved site of Pompeii, whose ancient ruins were preserved by the volcanic ash that devastated the city in 79AD. You will stop for lunch continuing along the scenic coast of Amalfi to Positano, where you will spend the afternoon in the winding, narrow streets, and seaside cafes. The trip will conclude when you are returned to your hotel in Rome.
In case you have already visited Pompeii, you can substitute it with Herculaneum. The site is less famous and smaller, but still harbors a wealth of archeological findings, which include stylish mosaics, ancient advertisement and well preserved house complexes.
*We do highly recommend a private licensed guide for either Pompeii or Herculaneum.
**Pompeii is partly wheelchair accessible.
***You can get the tickets to either Pompeii or Herculaneum on location – Tickets are Euros 19 per person for Pompei and Euros 13 for Herculaneum.
Children and students up to 18 have free entrance but an ID is necessary
