The Tour

Your journey begins as your private English-speaking driver greets you directly at your hotel lobby in Naples, Sorrento, or along the Amalfi Coast in a premium luxury vehicle. Setting off along one of the world's most breathtaking coastal routes, enjoy panoramic views of soaring limestone cliffs, deep turquoise waters, and pastel-hued villages clinging to the mountainside as you make your way to Positano.
Spend your morning exploring the vertical jewel of the Amalfi Coast. Wander through Positano’s charming pedestrian alleys draped in vibrant bougainvillea, browsing artisan boutiques famous for bespoke leather sandals and breezy linen fashion (Moda Positano). Take a moment to pause at a sunlit seaside café on the Spiaggia Grande, soaking in the quintessential coastal atmosphere and watching the colorful fishing boats bob in the harbor.
From Positano, your driver escorts you along the scenic coastal road toward Sorrento, perched dramatically on towering tuff cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Here, pause for a leisurely lunch at an authentic seaside trattoria or cliffside restaurant, savoring fresh Mediterranean seafood, handmade pasta, and regional specialties paired with local Campania wines. Afterward, take a relaxed stroll through the lively lanes of Sorrento's historic center and Piazza Tasso, perhaps browsing the town's renowned marquetry (inlaid wood) workshops or lingering over a glass of artisanal chilled limoncello.
In the afternoon, continue inland to the legendary archaeological site of Pompeii. Buried under a massive blanket of volcanic ash and pumice during the cataclysmic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, this once-thriving imperial city remained frozen in time for nearly two millennia. Spend your afternoon stepping into the daily life of ancient Rome as you walk original basalt-paved chariot roads, admire vibrant wall frescoes inside grand patrician villas, and explore the ancient Forum, thermal baths, taverns, and theaters. Following an extraordinary day combining breathtaking coastal panoramas with world-class antiquity, relax in air-conditioned comfort on your return drive to your hotel in the early evening.

Important Tour Details & Custom Options:
Private Licensed Guide Recommendation: While you may explore the archaeological ruins independently, we strongly recommend adding a private licensed guide for Pompeii to seamlessly navigate the vast 160-acre site and bring the history, architecture, and personal stories of the ancient Romans vividly to life.

Herculaneum Alternative: If you prefer a more compact and remarkably preserved site, you may choose to substitute Pompeii with Herculaneum (Ercolano), celebrated for its preserved two-story wooden structures, carbonized artifacts, and intimate residential villas. Please inform us of your preference at the time of booking.

Accessibility: Both Pompeii and Herculaneum feature dedicated, partially wheelchair-accessible pathways (including Pompeii's accessible "Pompei per Tutti" route). Please let us know in advance if any members of your party require accessible arrangements so we can optimize your day accordingly.
