The Tour

Immerse yourself in the living museum of Florence on an intimate walking journey through centuries of groundbreaking artistic and intellectual triumph. Accompanied by your licensed private art historian guide, you will trace the footsteps of the geniuses who ignited the Renaissance, strolling through atmospheric medieval avenues and past historic residences associated with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo.

Your exploration begins at the monumental Gothic Basilica di Santa Croce, revered as the "Pantheon of the Italian Glories." Step beneath its soaring timber-trussed nave to pay homage before the final resting places of titans who reshaped human thought and creativity—including Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, and Niccolò Machiavelli. As your guide illuminates the dawn of Renaissance humanism, you will discover the basilica’s extraordinary artistic treasures, from expressive sculptures by Donatello to dramatic fresco cycles by Giotto.

From Santa Croce, a short walk brings you into Piazza della Signoria, the historic heart of Florentine civic life and political drama. Gaze up at the fortress-like battlements of Palazzo Vecchio and wander through the captivating open-air sculpture gallery of the Loggia dei Lanzi, home to masterworks in bronze and marble. Continue just steps away to the banks of the Arno River to take in views of the iconic Ponte Vecchio, the medieval bridge lined with generations of artisan goldsmith and jeweler workshops.

Your journey culminates inside the world-renowned corridors of the Uffizi Gallery, originally commissioned by Cosimo I de' Medici. Bypassing the public lines, follow your guide through a carefully curated selection of the museum's greatest triumphs. Trace the dramatic evolution of Italian art through landmark masterworks—from Giotto’s revolutionary early perspective and the ethereal beauty of Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and Primavera, to seminal creations by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo. Leaving with a profound understanding of the ideas and patrons that shaped the Western world, you will be ideally situated to continue savoring Florence at your own pace.
