The Tour
Your day starts with a convenient pickup directly from the shore at the Messina port for a private and comfortable tour along the Sicilian coast. The first stop is the historic village of Giardini Naxos, the island’s earliest Greek settlement, followed by a scenic drive to the famous Belvedere Square in Taormina to enjoy a panoramic view encompassing the Messina coastline and the imposing peak of Mount Etna. From there, we climb to the medieval village of Castelmola to explore its narrow streets and the ruins of a thirteenth century Arab castle that offers the most elevated vantage point in the area.
We then return to the heart of Taormina where you will have an hour of free time to explore the vibrant historical center and its unique boutiques at your own pace. The experience continues as we drive through the volcanic landscapes on the slopes of Mount Etna to reach the Gambino winery for an exclusive tasting experience. You will have the opportunity to tour the estate and enjoy a guided tasting of four different wines in a professional setting. This tasting is accompanied by a full Sicilian lunch featuring authentic local flavors like sun dried tomatoes, Etna mushrooms and olives, regional salami, and a variety of cheeses including Pepato and Provola. The menu also includes sausage prepared with white wine, fresh salad, and traditional hazelnut sweets with coffee, with specialized options available for vegetarians or children upon request.
