After you are greeted at your hotel (either in Naples, Sorrento or Amalfi coast), before making your way to the archaeological site of Pompeii, the ancient city whose ruins were preserved by the volcanic eruption that devastated it in 79AD. For couple of hours time you have to explore Pompeii before heading to Herculaneum, a renowned seaside resort visited only by the Roman aristocrats to spend their summers, which was completely buried by the lava and mudflow from eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the 79 AD. Your morning will be full with history while afternoon you have time to relax and visit a private wine estate located at the feet of M. Vesuvius
You will be given a guided tour in their vineyards and enjoy lunch in a beautiful terraced garden to taste the specialties of the Campania region (Bruschetta, salami, provolone cheese, spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and the Pastiera Napoletana a ricotta and corn pie). Accompanied with wine tasting of 5 different wines of Lacryma Christi, local to the area, white, red and rosè to finish with a spumante (sparkling wine) and last but not least a distilled of apricot before heading back to your hotel.
* We do highly recommend a private licensed guide for Pompeii and Herculaneum ruins (especially in Pompeii);
** Lunch with wine tasting will cost 28 Euros per person, kids that will not drink wine will be charged only for lunch 15 Euros per person
Note with a photo ID children and students up to age of 18 have a free entrance.
